Crispy Honey Brussels Sprouts

IMG_7024.JPG

I’ve experienced with these brussels sprouts a few times now. If you follow me on my Instagram stories you know exactly what I mean. Coming from my Filipino side, we mix soy sauce and honey together for everything, throw in a little bit of sugar to any of your dishes to give it a little sweetness haha anyway, I finally was able to take photos for you to show you a step by step of how we like our brussels sprouts.

What you need:

  • 1-2lbs of Brussel Sprouts

  • 1/4 cup of Soy Sauce

  • 2 Tbs of Honey

  • 2 Tbs of Maple Syrup

  • 1 Tbs of Sriracha

  • 1 Tbs of Crushed Garlic

  • 2 Tbs of Avocado Oil

  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Step Two:

Soak the Brussel Sprouts in a bowl of water for about a minute.

Step Three:

After draining the water, add the Avocado Oil and Garlic to the bowl and mix until you feel that the oil is spread out evenly.

Step Four:

Bake the Brussels Sprouts for about 45-60 min at 375, I know this seems really long but you can start your main dish around this time, you want to have the same amount of crispiness all around so flip your Brussel Sprouts every 10-15 min, and season it with salt and pepper.

Step Five:

In a small sauce pan mix in the soy sauce, maple syrup, honey and sriracha (if you like garlic you can add a little more here) Heat it up on medium heat until you can see it thicken.

Step Six:

Once it is ready, pull out all the brussels sprouts from the oven put them in a bowl, & pour the sauce on the brussels sprouts little by little until you feel like there is enough, then toss and serve.

Look and how amazing they look. haha I can taste them looking at this photo. Maybe I will make them again tonight. haha

Here is the dish I served them with. I made my Mango Salsa Crispy Salmon dish, click here for the recipe. (i didn’t have enough mango so I added some oranges, which I probably will do again in the future. )

See you in the next post!
